In 1944, the reputed Jasdanwalla family established a General Insurance Company under the name Alco Insurance Company Limited. Over the years, insurance was abandoned and trading activity was introduced and presently it is titled as Alco Company Private Limited, participating in Investments and Trading.

Alco has grown to be a high net worth, debt-free Company and represents internationally renowned companies, marketing their range of building products such as:

Keeping in view the growing market overseas and its group’s skills in marketing and manufacture, in 2004 Alco established a foreign subsidiary in the U.A.E, called Legion Corporation FZE located at the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone.
Manufacturing activities are undertaken in an associated company, namely Chevron Mouldings Private Limited which specializes in the manufacture of fiberglass oil / water separator plate packs and other large custom moulded Fiberglass items made to customer’s specifications from its factory at Vapi, Gujarat. The Company also undertakes production of large thermoformed items catering to diverse industries.
An associated company in the group, Lombards Private Limited, had been a pioneer in the manufacture of liquid detergents under the brand names of MOP and DON since 1971. In 1991, Lombards added to its portfolio, the manufacture of Acrylic Sanitaryware such as bathtubs, washbasins and shower trays under the brand ‘Flamingo’.
In 2018, Lombards was merged with Alco and its activities are now undertaken in Chevron Mouldings.
In 2013 the family re-entered the field of construction chemicals. Alco offers a whole range of construction chemicals, highly specialized solutions for waterproofing, strengthening, and re-habilitation of structures. Imported specialized niche products are available for PUR Injection Grouts and their range of building envelope products.
